ABOUT DANIELLE SLAVIN

I obtained my Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and became a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker in 2019. I dedicated 10 years to serving the children and families of New Jersey through my work with the Division of Child Protection & Permanency in various capacities, including having the honor of taking part in the finalization of many adoptions. In following my passion of alternative family building, for several years I provided support to surrogates through all of the intricacies of their surrogacy journey. In my current role as a full time therapist, I feel an immense sense of privilege when someone allows me to be a part of their healing process.

My hobbies outside of therapy include any and all artistic outlets, being outdoors, and connecting with family and friends.

APPROACH TO THERAPY

I am dedicated to challenging and supporting you as you navigate this current season of life. I hope that you will be able to rely on our authentic therapeutic relationship to find the strength and courage to meet the goals that are a priority and meaningful to you. I take on a therapeutic approach that integrates several evidence-based modalities, but together we will create a tailored strategy to your own unique path of healing.

PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

The road to parenthood, and into parenthood is a significant life transition that most assume will occur with perfect execution. Until it doesn’t. Fortunately, you don’t have to navigate these difficult roads alone. I am committed to creating a safe space for you to tell your story, where you can feel supported, and take the necessary steps in order to feel like yourself again whether that is during your journey to grow your family, postpartum, or somewhere in between.

I received my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI), and have completed the Mental Health Professional Training on Infertility through the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). I have extensive knowledge in the many paths to parenthood and their challenges, including third party reproduction (IUI/IVF, Surrogacy, Donor Conception, etc.) and adoption.

“May you never discredit how far you have come and the miles it took just to be in this place.” – Morgan Harper Nichols
